Yeah, so my house almost burned down yesterday. Again.
Except unlike the 2003 fires, the flames stopped about 20 feet away from my house.
My dad had been clearing dead plants away from there for 8 weeks now. I thought he was being paranoid, but sure enough, the fire line was right where he stopped clearing.
And now it's raining ash. Which is always lovely.
Lucky for us, there's nothing left to burn so we don't have to worry. But there are still two other massive fires moving around in adjacent areas. People are being evacuated left and right.
But the sun was a brilliant red today because of the smoke. It cast a light on the world that was absolutely breathtaking. Every color stood out more and was brighter and more vivid then I have every seen. |

So a little while ago my friend Tierney and I went to a Big Bad Voodoo
Daddy concert in San Diego (they're a swing band....www.bbvd.com ).
After every concert the guys always come out and say hi to the fans.
They're usually pretty prompt, but this time they took 40 minutes. But
it was worth it because Tier and I made friends with the security
guard, Josh and when they did finally come out, there were only 15
people left waiting, so we got lots of quality time. :)

Okay everyone...I am heading out to Washington D.C tomorrow around three in the morning. I'm driving via the Southen States and will be gone for around a month and a half. I'll miss all of you very much and hope you all have a wonderful summer (or a wondeful winter for you Oz people? I'm never going to figure that out). Talk to you again in late July.
